ICS and its consortium members recently won a tender in Malaysia to customize and deploy MicroClear® Solution for the Royal Malaysian Customs Department, Government of Malaysia. The scope of uCustoms (Ubiquitous Customs) Project is to automate the customs process nation-wide at all customs locations (sea ports, airports, rail, land-border stations) in Malaysia. The stated vision of uCustoms project is “anytime, anywhere, any device”, thus covering all procedures for regional and domestic requirements. It provides a multi-agency collaborative system, meeting policy and procedural needs of more than fifty (50) cross-border agencies. A salient feature is the adoption of AHTN (ASEAN Harmonized Tariff Nomenclature) with WCO’s commodity coding structure at its core. It thus enables Malaysian trade for integration with ASEAN trading partners.
